Most men will agree, that the age of the gigantic fat wallet is mostly over. Long gone are the days of our fathers who carried wallets stuffed with cards, receipts and God knows what else. When plopping down these behemoths on the table at a restaurant they’d not only make an audible thump, sending vibrations through everyone’s hands still on the table, they’d also reek of a sort of embarrassing truth, that the man whose wallet it was, didn’t really care about how it looked or what it said about his organizational skills. These days, minimalism and functionality rule the wallet world. Sturdy, long-lasting, slim and minimalist wallets are what this list is all about.

While we’ve now covered the best money clip wallets, and the best carbon fiber wallets, in this buying guide we’ll simply stick with talking about minimalism.

4. Vaultskin Chelsea Wallet

What I enjoy most about this Vaultskin Chelsea minimalist wallet is that it comes in a nice wide variety of stylish colours, but also that it includes a small strap at the top of the wallet to allow you easy access to your cards which then retracts itself. Made with durable and soft Italian leather the slim profile of the Chelsea wallet allows it to easily slip into even some of the smallest pockets. With 2 slots available, the compact design allows for up to 10 cards.

5. Vbax Minimalist Bifold Wallet

You don’t normally associate a bi-fold wallet, (what is traditionally known as a regular wallet) with thinness or minimalism, but the Vbax, made out of a synthetic and lightweight microfiber material actually fits the, pardon the pun, bill. With RFID blocking features, the VBAX is both durable and waterproof and is available in four different finishes. 6. Secrid Slim Wallet

Unlike the wallets you’ve perused thus far in this compilation of minimalist wallets, the Secrid wallet features a unique concept. Instead of being made out of one material, it gracefully fuses both leather on the outside and a slim aluminum pocket for internal card storage, along with a handy click-slide to allow you to easily pull out the cards. At just 14mm thick, the Secrid can hold up to 12 cards plus an unspecified number of cash bills.

Holding up to 10 cards, the LEAN wallet is one of the more finely crafted wallets on this list and is stitched using the strongest stitch technique known to man, the “Saddle Stitch”. 

8. House of Jack Deacon Bifold Front Pocket Wallet

Another gorgeous leather wallet from House of Jack designed to keep things in your pocket nice and tidy. The various compartment allows you to carry up to 9 cards. Additionally, this beautiful wallet is available in two finishes, Black Natural Grain Leather and Brown Natural Grain Leather. It may not be the most feature-rich wallet, but the way it stands out on this list is that it essentially allows you to carry a little bit of everything, ensuring that you don’t have to search for other solutions when trying to live a minimalistic lifestyle, at least when it comes to your pockets. Available in two metal finishes and 5 leather finishes, the Element wallet is wrapped in a stainless-steel plate and top-grain oil-tanned leather. Perhaps if you’re a Navy Seal or simply the rugged outdoorsy type that just can’t get enough of multi-functional tools while maintaining a small footprint in your pocket, the T01 Tactical wallet is probably for you. With a ridiculous 14 functions built-in, the T01 is made from aerospace-grade aluminum, and includes a removable multi-tool, enabling those 14 functions. At only 0.3 inches thick with a full complement of 6 cards and a few bills, this is an incredibly useful wallet with stunning looks to boot!

13. Radix – One Slim Wallet

This incredible fusion of leather, steel and rubber is one of my favourite minimalist wallets. I bought one of these a little while ago and have gone on to give them as a gift as well. The chassis of this awesome wallet has 4 loop holes that allow you to attach keys, lanyards, tethers, whatever. This wallet can hold up to 10 cards + cash and also has push notches on both sides of the wallet to allow you to easily slide up your cards.
